Mutton Bustin’ is a crowd pleasing tradition at the Inter-State Fair and Rodeo. In this fun filled competition, children between 6 and 7 climb on the back of ferocious sheep and try to hang on for six excitement-packed seconds. The audience cheers on each contestant through the ride and the thrilling dismount.
Entries in the mutton bustin are open to the public. Event takes place August 13-15 during each performance of the PRCA Rodeo and LJ Jenkins Bull Riding. Child must be between the ages of 6 and 7 as of the date of the rodeo and weigh less than 50 lbs. Rider will take a wool hold and ride for six seconds to score and receive points. Child can use one or two hands.
